ISDIN Sun Protection Tips

SAN JOSÉ, CA (July 30, 2019) – ISDIN is a proud sponsor of the 2019 Mubadala Silicon Valley Classic, and wants players and fans alike to be aware of the dangers of prolonged exposure to the sun. With that in mind, ISDIN presents the keys to being safe under the sun with their top five sun protection tips.

Sunscreen should be a vital part of any tennis player or fan’s routine, slipped into bags or waiting patiently courtside to provide essential protection. Why? While we’ve all heard of the dangers of the sun, few people actually follow sunscreen guidelines correctly — or even wear sun protection at all! ISDIN is proud to advocate for healthy skin that enjoys the outdoors. We believe you shouldn’t be compromised by your skin’s health. These small changes can make a world of difference.

Find the right time

Head to the courts in the early morning or late evening when the rays of the sun aren’t as strong. The rays of the midday sun are generally the most intense. If you really can’t avoid being outside, stick to the shade as much as possible and take regular breaks.

Apply sunscreen correctly

Apply Eryfotona 30 minutes before sun exposure to clean, dry skin. Reapply at least once every two hours — or more if the match is a tough one! Sweat and water mean you need to apply your sunscreen more frequently, so pay attention to the time that you originally applied your cream. Apply sunscreen to all areas of skin, and don’t forget the often-forgotten areas such as the neck, ears, and back.

Don’t be fooled by clouds

Just because there are clouds in the sky doesn’t mean you’re protected. UV radiation still makes its way through, so put your sunscreen on no matter what the weather. The sun’s rays can penetrate clouds in varying degrees, and in some cases, UV-B levels can be even higher than they might under clear skies due to scattered sunlight passing through, in addition to direct sunlight.

Use sunscreen every day

Make sunscreen your morning habit, your mid-morning habit, your afternoon habit - just make it your habit! If you’re outdoors, sunscreen is a must. There are no excuses, and you’ll enjoy the sun even more knowing there’s one less thing that you have to worry about.

Cover up

The combination of a sunscreen with protective clothing is unbeatable: wear sunglasses, a hat, or light long-sleeved tops to maximize protection. Try to find a baseball cap with built-in neck protection to prevent damage to the delicate neck area, and look for a uniform with a UPF (ultraviolet protection factor). With protective clothing in addition to your daily sunscreen, you’ll be unstoppable!
