SAN JOSÉ, CA (August 1, 2021) – The doubles draw for the 2021 Mubadala Silicon Valley Classic has been announced ahead of the tournament’s 50th anniversary event.

The top-seeded pair of Gabriela Dabrowski and Luisa Stefani will face American Kaitlyn Christian and Australian Arina Rodionova in the opening round. Dabrowski, winner of nine career doubles titles, reached the round of 16 at Roland-Garros earlier this year and was a finalist at Wimbledon in 2019.

Leading the bottom half of the draw with the No. 2 seed is the pair of Darija Jurak and Andreja Klepac. Jurak, currently ranked 19th in the world in doubles, advanced to the semifinals of the Australian Open earlier this year with Mina Stojankovic. In 2016, Klepac advanced to the Australian Open semifinals in mixed doubles with Treat Huey. The second-seeded team was drawn against the duo of Amanda Anisimova and Anastasia Potapova.

The tournament’s third-seeded team is led by two-time defending Mubadala Silicon Valley Classic doubles champion Kveta Peschke. Peschke has won 35 career doubles titles (3rd all-time among active players) and is the two-time defending Mubadala Silicon Valley Classic doubles champion. She is partnering with Ellen Perez this year.

The all-American pairs of Ashlyn Krueger and Robin Montgomery along with Makenna Jones and Elizabeth Scotty accepted wildcard entries into the draw. Jones and Scotty won the 2021 NCAA National championship competing for the University of North Carolina.
