Currently ranked No. 15 in the WTA world singles rankings and No. 10 in the world doubles rankings, the rising star is a fan favorite and will be making her Mubadala Silicon Valley Classic debut in San José this August. She has already captured two Hologic WTA Tour singles titles and four doubles crowns in her young career.
"Coco (Gauff) is one of the shining stars of tennis' next generation, and someone fans have wanted to see at the event for a long time," said tournament director Vickie Gunnarsson. "We are thrilled to have her make her Mubadala Silicon Valley Classic debut this summer, display her talents to our fans in San Jose, and inspire young women throughout the Bay area."
Gauff is one of only two WTA players currently ranked in the top-15 in singles and doubles.
Gauff captured the hearts and minds of the world in 2019 when, as a 15-year-old, she advanced to the Round of 16 at Wimbledon, which included a first-round win over the five-time Wimbledon champion Venus Williams. She has continued to quickly progress up the world rankings ending the 2019 season at No. 68, the 2020 season at No. 48, and the 2021 season at No. 22.

Its list of past champions reads like a who's who of women's tennis, including Serena Williams, Lindsay Davenport, Billie Jean King, Chris Evert, Martina Navratilova, Andrea Jaeger, Monica Seles, Martina Hingis, Venus Williams, and Kim Clijsters.
